Abstract: The new Commission has begun its work, and Jacques Delors, the President, gave an account of his major policy thrusts. Although politically extremely guarded, he had some things to say of interest to managers. Perhaps the more immediately significant news was the announcement of the RACE definition phase. We include a strategic analysis of RACE compiled from Community documents. Initiatives are also progressing on computerised manufacturing.
