Establishing an acquisition policy

Abstract:
Matrix approaches to portfolio analysis of strategic management issues have become well established. Amongst the leaders is the PIMS model. In this article it is used as a basis for the evaluation of strategic acquisitions, as distinct from investment acquisitions, resulting in some penetrating insights into some recent major acquisition experiences.
