Where robots are and where they are going

P.G. Davey

European Management Journal, 1987, vol. 5, issue 2, 81-83

Abstract: Many managers in production facilities are well accustomed to robot technology. Others wonder how soon it will affect them. In this article the author describes how the technology is moving from first to second generation, and some of the opportunities and problems which he foresees. This paper is based upon the author's invited contribution to the Economist Conference on Advanced Manufacturing, Geneva, October 1986.
