Up against the pyramid -- a challenge to human resources management
Hans Werner
European Management Journal, 1987, vol. 5, issue 2, 84-93
Abstract:
The growing challenge to organizational pyramids and resultant recognition of the need to manage increasingly through networks is producing a new view of appropriate career development strategies amongst younger high-potential managers. This article analyses the convergence of these two trends, based principally on studies of INSEAD MBAs, and suggests that they offer new challenges to established views of human resource management.
