Strengthening the procurement function

Abstract: Maynard & Company studied the Dutch system of weapons procurement for the Dutch MOD and compared it with the practice of some other NATO partners. The report, which is summarised here by Chairman Laurens van den Muyzenberg, emphasises the symbiotic relationship between the defence of a country and its industrial basis. For small nations particularly, it gives rise to a dilemma in procurement policy.
