The consequences of mega-trends on business education

Jan-Peter Paul

European Management Journal, 1989, vol. 7, issue 3, 283-286

Abstract: Business perceive the MBA business training as quite inappropriate to their needs. Whilst the demand for highly-trained managers continues to increase sharply, MBAs do not satisfy it. Business education must adapt to new structural and technological changes in Europe. Jan-Peter Paul identifies eight mega-trends in the business world which will affect the training of MBAs and makes suggestions on ways in which European business schools should adapt their education programmes as a result.
