Laurens van den Muyzenberg
European Management Journal, 1990, vol. 8, issue 2, 227-233
Abstract:
Laurens van Muyzenberg's article can be subtitled, "The Organization of Product Development, including Design, in some Highly Developed Countries". Fast Track Development (FTD) is all about the best ways of doing this. Van den Muyzenberg's argument is that companies who take product development and design seriously must strengthen their cross-functional management of product development if they are to succeed. Functional excellence alone is not enough. Some methods are examined which achieve this and suggestions made for reducing the risk involved in new product development.
