Abstract: Most people believe the Single European Market will spur on growth in mergers and acquisitions. 1992 is also expected to encourage more joint ventures between companies in the European Community as they seek new markets across frontiers. Jean Hiltrop looks at the impact of 1992 on the European banking business as financial services begin to free up. In particular, he comments on what it all means for the management of people in banking.
