Buy-outs in Germany

European Management Journal, 1991, vol. 9, issue 1, 60-64
Abstract:
Bernd Fahrholz and Reiner Löslein look at the main-springs of the now accelerating growth in buy-outs in Germany. There are some special factors at work, like the current concessionary tax system, growing interest by experienced foreign banks, and the well-placed position of the German universal banks which can offer full service and follow-up. The future for buy-outs in Germany looks promising, but participants should beware of over-crowding and wafer-thin margins.
