Managing the successful multinational of the 21st century: Impact of global competition
Jacques Manardo
European Management Journal, 1991, vol. 9, issue 2, 121-126
Abstract:
Contemporary global competitive pressures are causing the internal management of multinationals to give top priority to strategic planning. It is no longer a luxury. Since each business unit in a multinational has its own strategy requirements, the corporations must institute new forms of organization to plan and manage strategy. Jacques Manardo, of BDA Deloitte and Touche, Paris, uses case studies from Olivetti and Deloitte Ross Tohmatsu International to demonstrate how successful corporations should organise themselves to manage strategic imperatives in the 21st century.
