Putting the 'international' into the MBA
Colin Carnall
European Management Journal, 1991, vol. 9, issue 3, 311-316
Abstract:
In this article, Colin Carnall looks at the short-comings of Business Schools which have tried, and failed, to develop a truly international MBA programme. Their strategies included having course members with different nationalities and teaching staff from different countries. A more promising approach for the future is to create an international, networked MBA. Finding local collaborators of high standing is essential for this. And it is not plain sailing -- problems of maintaining standards and high quality research need to be solved. In fact, the only reliable means of internationalizing an MBA course is to ensure that the teaching staff possess international experience.
