Growing minds have a maturing mental attention: A review of Demetriou and Spanoudis (2018)

Juan Pascual-Leone

Intelligence, 2019, vol. 72, issue C, 59-66

Abstract: The book presents theory to clarify individual-difference (ID) intelligence and developmental intelligence. A key concept is cognizance. The book does not recognize mental (endogenous, effortful) attention as major factor in developmental intelligence. Five different experimental-developmental studies backing the claim of mental attention are summarized.
