Abstract:
India is the third largest economy in Asia. It is one of the important members of BRIC emerging countries. There are many organizations in India which manage knowledge in their organizations in an Indian way. This study focuses on the term jugaad to describe the way Indian organizations use flexibility and resource management to manage knowledge. The study also highlights how coordination and cooperation help organizations to manage knowledge and increase employee satisfaction and ultimately improve organization performance. To investigate the role of jugaad for managing knowledge in Indian organizations, a theoretical model has been developed. The model has been validated using PLS-SEM technique with 328 usable respondents from 16 Indian organizations. The study finds that the jugaad approach has a significant moderating impact on managing knowledge in Indian organizations. Also, the study highlights that coordination and cooperation between employees help to increase employee satisfaction which in turn improves organization performance.
