Abstract:
This research mainly focuses on the evaluation of the sustainability of maritime containers. To examine the relationship between maritime container and packaging, this study compares containers and general packaging in terms of delivery performance, operation risk, cost structure, and operations improvement. This analysis is also applicable to the containers' supply chain to examine the effect that packaging has on performance, such as the compatibility of packaging, goods, environment, and operations. The analysis allows the development of an evaluation framework for sustainable container management. In addition, this study provides a case study on rice business in the UK applying that evaluation framework.
