Abstract: •The three CAD domains are likely dimensional, not categorical.•More concerning temperament profiles can be identified by at least 3 years of age.•Negative emotionality may be important to the development of impulsive and sensation-seeking behaviors during childhood.•Negative emotionality may be important to the development of prosocial values during childhood.
