Focal concerns theory and case advancement in sexual assault cases: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Abstract: We examine correlates of police and prosecutor decision-making in sexual assault cases and assess the focal concerns theory’s ability to explain decisions to arrest and charge suspects. In addition, we evaluate the moderating effects of focal concerns variables on decisions.
