Abstract:
This case study examines the life and crimes of a unique individual who perpetrated a double-homicide. He has been called a “vigilante” because he chose his primary victim from an online sex offender registry. In order to understand his pathway to violence we describe his early childhood, his extremist writings, and his criminal history before explaining why he is the archetypal “case in point” for future research on vigilante violence to consider.
