Abstract:
The analog computer simulation of the electrical operation for a Servoed Altimeter with Automatic Mechanical Standby is described. The objective of this simulation is to obtain the optimum servomechanism performance by varying the loop gain and the system damping factor. The loop gain is varied by changing the voltage gain of a solid state servo amplifier circuit and the system damping is varied by changing the strength of a permanent magnet which forms part of the eddy current damper. The performance of the servomechanism is judged on the basis of system accuracy and the frequency response characteristics.
