Physical criteria in computer methods for partial differential equations

Robert Vichnevetsky

Mathematics and Computers in Simulation (MATCOM), 1974, vol. 16, issue 1, 3-16

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to show that there are many physical or problem related criteria which may be used to measure quantitatively numerical accuracy. Such criteria have been used sporadically in specialized areas, but little attempt has been made to bring them together within the mainstream of numerical analysis.
