An application of the hybrid alternating direction implicit procedure to the simulation of an unconfined aquifer

Abstract:
Mathematical description of flow in underground reservoirs gives rise to partial differential equations that are often non-linear and that contain parameters which are position dependent. The solutions of these equations provide useful information for the evaluation and prediction of reservoir performance. The complexity of these equations is such that analytical solutions are not readily available and numerical techniques implemented using digital computers have been employed.
