Mathematics and Computers in Simulation (MATCOM), 1975, vol. 17, issue 4, 283-293

Abstract: This paper will establish the need for an Advanced Hybrid Computing System and develop its system features. Methods to achieve high system utilization are discussed and details of their implementation in hardware and software are given. The Software System AHCSSL is a highly transportable simulation system and uses the latest standard simulation languages available. The simulation user specifies his problem in an high level simulation language which is a derivative of CSSL. Either by his choice or without his knowledge this simulation problem will be run on an Advanced Hybrid Computing System or on a conventional Digital Computer. This paper will outline the process to program and operate the Advanced Hybrid Computer System. This AHCSSL is necessary to utilize this high computing speed of an Advanced Hybrid Computer system which when solving dynamic simulation problem has the capability of over 900 million operations per second. This is between 10 and 100 times faster than the capability of any of the modern digital computers.
