Abstract: In this paper we present an algorithm for solving quasi-pentadiagonal Toeplitz linear systems, that is based on Du et al. method (Du et al., 2014) and the Sherman–Morrison–Woodbury inversion formula. All algorithms have been implemented in Matlab and numerical experiments are given in order to illustrate the validity and efficiency of our algorithm. An application of the proposed algorithm to the Lax–Wendroff scheme is also considered.
