Abstract: In this paper, an image algorithm using finite time synchronization is designed based on multi-scroll hyperchaotic system. A new ring-cutting scrambling is used in the algorithm to scramble the pictures in a relatively simple way. In the end, the encryption algorithm is completed by plane diffusion. In particular, the bit-plane algorithm needs to restore four bit-planes to get plaintext which can greatly reduce the deciphering ability. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can better resist violent attacks and cropping attacks through histogram, correlation coefficient red, and robustness tests.
