Contraction mapping techniques applied to the hybrid computer solution of parabolic PDE's

P.A. Lawson

Mathematics and Computers in Simulation (MATCOM), 1981, vol. 23, issue 3, 299-303

Abstract: Using contraction mapping techniques a proof is given of the convergence of the discrete-space-continuous-time (DSCT) hybrid computer method of solution of the one-dimensional constant coefficients heat equation. Numerical results are given for a particular choice of initial temperature distribution and boundary conditions.
