Abstract:
A hybrid method for the solution of multidimensional p.d.e.'s, based on the Laplace-modified Galerkin approximation, is implemented and tested. Its performance is assessed by solving a number of significant linear and nonlinear p.d.e.'s over rectangles. Repeatability and effects of time step and mesh size are ascertained. In all cases, the hybrid results are compared with the exact and/or the digital solution. It is concluded that the proposed hybrid scheme is quite viable.
