Abstract:
A two-dimensional model is described of fluidized-bed chemical reactors which involve the flow of gas and solid mixtures undergoing chemical reactions. The model can be used for optimization, effective design, scale-up, and hazard analysis of these reactors. Results are presented from a nonreactive and a reactive calculation of jet penetration into a fluidized-bed and are compared to experimental results in the nonreactive case.
