Abstract:
A comparative analysis of stiff and elastic tie-line models used to simulate load-frequency control of two-area interconnected power systems is performed. Then, after the extension of the models to multi-area case, the lack of asymptotic stability of elastic tie-line models for certain interconnected structures is shown. To overcome this situation asymptotically stable compound models with both stiff and elastic tie-lines are proposed.
