Abstract:
In the paper the computer solution of partial differential equation increasing in head-on collision problem has been discussed. Mathematical model of phenomenon, which is based on the concept of dispersion theory of stress waves in straight rods upon axial impact, in the form of one-dimensional, nonhomogeneous, nonlinear hyperbolic equation with the use nine-point difference scheme of second order with controlled convergence has been solved. Computer calculation results have been presented.
