Pilot plant testing of an adaptive pH-control algorithm based on physico-chemical modelling

Mathematics and Computers in Simulation (MATCOM), 1984, vol. 26, issue 6, 523-533

Abstract: A pH-process difficult to control was constructed for testing different kinds of pH- control algorithms. The process was modelled applying basic physico-chemical laws. The overall pH-model comprised a linear mixing model of concentrations and an implicit state-linear output model describing the equilibrium conditions of the liquid. This model formed the basis for the construction of the adaptive algorithm. This algorithm included estimation of the concentrations and the use of these estimates in the construction of the control law.
