Computing some elementary functions of a complex variable

P. Midy and Y. Yakovlev

Mathematics and Computers in Simulation (MATCOM), 1991, vol. 33, issue 1, 33-49

Abstract: Algorithms avoiding overflows, underflows and various sources of numerical errors are presented for complex division, modulus, logarithm, tangent and exponentiation. Also discussed are the effects of branching errors due to underflows and the question how to choose a function definition suitablefor numerical computation.
