R-technology and case: analysis and perspective

Abstract: The Soviet software engineering methodology R-technology is examined. An overview of the technology is given, and R-technology is considered as a product in the context of the Soviet software industry. Reasons are suggested for why R-technology is not as widespread as the technology itself might warrant.
