Abstract:
The paper deals with the methodology of managing the development of large-scale systems and covers problems of designing large-scale production/transportation systems and their development control. It also discusses some of the results in this field obtained by the author. A specified feature of this class of problems is that in large-scale systems development planning the time schedule of investments for each particular element must be taken into consideration since it often takes a fairly long time for an element to start producing. Therefore this paper specifically focuses on formal treatment of the process of development of the system elements.
