Digital real-time simulation of transmission lines using parallel processors

Hoang Le-Huy and Jean-Claude Soumagne

Mathematics and Computers in Simulation (MATCOM), 1995, vol. 38, issue 4, 293-301

Abstract: Basic problems in real-time simulation of electromagnetic transients on power transmission lines using parallel processors are studied. The computation and communication capacities of the parallel DSP TMS320C40 in real-time simulation of power networks are evaluated. An application example is presented in which two C40s are used to simulate in real-time a small network including generator, transmission line, and load.
