Abstract:
A computational model of one pathway in the cat subcortical auditory system has been constructed and is being tested. The pathway runs from the basilar memrane of the cochlea and its inner hair cells through the principal auditory nuclei in the cat brainstem. This model is being compared to physiological recordings for validation purposes, and should prove a useful tool for testing theories of auditorysensory representation and functioning.
