Abstract:
In order to know the behavior of the annular induction plasma device and to define its operating conditions at atmospheric pressure, a three-dimensional numerical magneto-thermal model based on the nodal finite element method is presented. The calculation has been done to evaluate the influence of the number of the transformer arms on the field distribution and on the total power of the plasma. The (A, V) magnetic formulation is applied to multiply connected regions and it is coupled to the thermal one to evaluate the temperature profile.
