Abstract:
Electromagnetic forces generate vibrations in the end-winding support structure of large turbine generators under fault conditions. To study this phenomenon, a 3D electromagnetic model for the computation of the forces on the conductor bars, is described. The model is then applied to the study of a 600MW generator under short circuit conditions.
