Modelling and simulation aspects of a solar hot water system

J. Buzás, I. Farkas, A. Biró and R. Németh

Mathematics and Computers in Simulation (MATCOM), 1998, vol. 48, issue 1, 33-46

Abstract: The paper deals with the modelling and simulation aspects of the main components of a solar hot water system. Mathematical model was developed to describe the thermal behaviour and energy balance of different solar collectors and hot water storage tanks. Block-oriented simulation technique was used to obtain the solution of the dynamic model. For the identification of the model a laboratory scale measurement was carried out. The results of the simulation could support the selection of appropriate components and sizing of a solar domestic hot water system to be built.
