Modeling and simulation of FPGA-based variable-speed drives using Simulink

Francesco Ricci and Hoang Le-Huy

Mathematics and Computers in Simulation (MATCOM), 2003, vol. 63, issue 3, 183-195

Abstract: This paper presents a novel approach for the design and simulation of variable-speed drives when the control algorithm is to be implemented in an Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). The specialized Simulink tools used and the design procedure are presented. An application example using a Direct Torque Control (DTC) induction motor drive is presented and discussed.
