Analogue computer simulation of a time-dependant delay using the concept of generalised transfer function

R. Vichnevetsky

Mathematics and Computers in Simulation (MATCOM), 1964, vol. 6, issue 2, 105-109

Abstract: This paper gives the theoretical basis of a method allowing one to design a variable delay simulator using analogue computer elements. It is shown that, if conventional methods of approximation of a constant delay are extrapolated to time-dependant delays by simply making the coefficients become time-dependant as well, the circuit obtained will be mathematically wrong, unless a special condition on the location of those coefficients is fulfilled.
