Combined computation with slow-type and repetitive analog computers

Mathematics and Computers in Simulation (MATCOM), 1964, vol. 6, issue 3, 169-177

Abstract: Combination of slow-type and repetitive analog computers through linkage and their parallel computation with interchange of signals make it possible not only to exhibit their respective advantages but also to increase their effectiveness. The linkage consists of a comparator and sample-hold circuit. Automatic convergence of iterative computation is possible by variable parameter setting with a slow-type computer; a repetitive computer can also be used as a versatile non-linear element in a slow-type analog computer as major computer. Some examples of computation in the former case with calculated conditions for convergence are presented in the paper.
