Abstract:
Using perturbation analysis, we study the behavior and propagation of finite-amplitude harmonic waves in the context of the poroacoustic version of Stokes’ second problem. Low- and high-frequency expressions are derived, critical parameter values are determined, and we compare the solution obtained with those of the corresponding linear and lossless problems. In addition, numerical results are presented, a connection between the breakdown of the present perturbation solution and poroacoustic acceleration wave amplitude blow-up is noted, and a generalization of the model equation used in this study is briefly discussed.
