The Lorentzian diffusion of hydrogen in neon and xenon

A.S.M. Wahby and J. Los

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1981, vol. 105, issue 1, 257-263

Abstract: Relative diffusion coefficients have been measured for the almost Lorentzian gas mixtures Ne-D2 and Xe-D2, in the temperature range 237–420K. The temperature dependence of the diffusion coefficient, expressed in terms of the function [2 − (∂ ln D∂ ln T)p], after correction for quantum effects shows a much better agreement with theoretical predictions based on the Lorentz approximation than the corresponding H2-mixtures.
