Quantum projection renormalization group study of a spin 1 Ising model: Universality

Abstract:
The projective renormalization group is used to study the ground state critical properties of the quantum spin model obtained from a classical spin 1 Ising model via the transfer matrix. The thermal exponent calculated is found to be in good agreement with the value obtained from low temperature series expansions. When the spin 12 case is included for comparison, universality is seen to be well respected.
