Abstract:
A new second-order perturbation expansion is derived for the angular pair correlation function of quadrupolar fluids, and calculations were made, to first order, for dense quadrupolar fluids with reduced quadrupole moments Q∗ from 0.5 to 1.0. Both spherical and nonspherical references were used with the latter giving better results.
