Stationary solution of the Fokker-Planck equation for the brownian motion of an oscillator in an external force

T. Morita

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1982, vol. 110, issue 1, 321-328

Abstract: For an oscillator in a viscous medium under a gravitational filed and an external field, and iterative procedure of giving the stationary solution of the Fokker-Planck equation is presented, in which iterations give successive terms of the power series in the inverse powers of the viscosity η. The expression for the current including the term of O(1/η5), ignoring the terms of O(1/η7), is obtained.
