Abstract:
An exactly soluble model of a ferromagnet with paramagnetic fluctuations is analysed both analytically and numerically. The existence of such fluctuations depends on a relation between the direct and exchange interactions of particles. The presence of these fluctuations can drastically influence the properties of a system leading to the following effects; the change of the order of the phase transition from second to first; the occurrence of maxima in the magnetization and in the specific heat below the critical point; changes in critical indexes.
