Dynamics and statistics of heavy impurities in colloidal suspensions

Abstract:
A model for the exact treatment of a suspension of heavy impurities is given. This generalizes an earlier work in which the suspension consists of heavy isotopes. A useful representation of the interaction matrix is given. The resolvent of the interaction matrix is obtained in the weak- coupling limit, with the result that the heavy impurities perform Brownian motion, with the same friction constants as associated with a suspension of heavy isotopes.
