Abstract:
Diffusion coefficients have been measured of quasi Lorentzian mixtures of He and the noble gases Ne, Ar, Kr and Xe, in the temperature range from 237 to 420 K. Good agreement is obtained with experimental data reported in the literature. From the temperature dependence of D12 the thermal diffusion factor is predicted. These semi-empirical values agree very well with direct experimental determinations. Semi-quantitative agreement is obtained when comparing theoretical and experimental behaviour of the function. 2−∂ In D12∂ In Tp, applying for the theoretical calculations simple model potentials.
