Effect of statistical fluctuations of concentration on the critical temperature in a diluted magnetic system

B. Fechner

Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 1982, vol. 113, issue 1, 253-260

Abstract: A diluted spin system with quenched statistical concentration inhomogeneities is examined and the condition for a sharp phase transition is derived, which is equal to the one found earlier for a quenched inhomogeneous distribution of bonds. It is proved that this result does not depend upon the order of the moment at which the fluctuations of concentration are taken into account. It is also shown that if the exchange coupling constant J(l) is a strictly monotonic or convex function of the distance l, then the averaged correlation length of the inhomogeneous system is greater than the correlation length of the corresponding homogeneous one. This fact completed by additional assumption about the existence of the phase transition implies a lower bound for the critical temperature of the inhomogeneous system.
