Carmeli's Hilbert space for quantum gravity: A group-theoretical approach

Abstract:
Carmeli's group-theoretical approach to the formulation and quantization of field equations has recently led to a new proposed Hilbert space for quantum gravity. Work by Carmeli and the present author shows that for a wide range of Riemannian space-times there is a one-to-one correspondence between vectors in the Hilbert space and solutions of the Newman-Penrose field equations, provided the Newman-Penrose variable σ is specified. The Petrov classification is a natural one in the Hilbert space.
